Since then, the backlash against the proposed $4 curbside fee for Uber and Lyft has ballooned into something of a cause célèbre for conservative big-hitters like the libertarian Goldwater Institute, which has all but threatened a lawsuit if the plan goes through. ![]() Lyft made a splash in November when it threatened to cease operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport over a proposed rate hike for airport pickups and drop-offs.
